Wild Learning is an unconventional educational space. It is important to have some context and knowledge about Democratic and Self Directed Education. A couple of ways to learn more is to look over our website and check out our documentary, “Wild Learning”. The documentary gives an overview of unconventional education. You can also check out our resources page for further research.

After Researching Us, please contact us to introduce yourselves and share any questions you may have wildlearninglincoln@gmail.com. After that initial contact, you can fill out our enrollment form that can be found below (the “click here to enroll” button).

When you submit the enrollment form, we will set up a Welcome Meeting (either over the phone, zoom or in person). This will give us an opportunity to not only go over official introductions but have more in depth conversations around our philosophy, what the daily experiences of young people are here at Wild Learning, and the needs and goals of your child and your family. Young people are encouraged to participate in this interview.

Once we’ve completed a Welcome Meeting, we will schedule a visit for the young person. This visit can last as little as a half day or as much as a few days. We want them to get a genuine feel for Wild Learning. After this visit a Conditional Enrollment begins. Conditional Enrollment lasts for three weeks.

After the three weeks has ended, the facilitators and staff will reflect on the young person's experience and the community's experience to see if Wild Learning is a good fit! You and your child will also reflect to see if Wild Learning is a good fit for your child. We will discuss these reflections at an Enrollment Meeting. An Enrollment meeting will include facilitators and parents. If everyone is in agreement, then the young person is officially enrolled in Wild Learning!

Tuition

At Wild Learning we use an income based sliding scale tuition. We do this to make Wild Learning as accessible as we can at this time. A sliding scale means that the cost changes depending on your families income. Please refer to this tuition guide to help you get a sense of what your tuition may be. Keep in mind though, this is only a guide, not a rigid set of requirements. We know that things can change and we are here to work with you regarding tuition at the start of the enrollment process and throughout the year.
